Update: My life. Part 2.

Here's an updated version of the update on my life. It's been a while since I've posted here, so a lot has probably changed.

1. I finished that pre-cal class. It was a close call but I ended up finishing with a 93% over all grade. I actually did it.

2. I graduated from highschool. I've moved on. I put on the cap and gown, I walked, I danced my way out of the ceremony, and I cried. I mourned the loss of my highschool years and celebrated for the change that was to come. I in no way would ever want to go back, but I will always miss that part of my life.

3.  I did not end up going to Stan State. I went to new student orientation and quickly found out that at college was not where I wanted to be. I prayed about it a lot and The Lord led me somewhere else. I decided to "follow my dreams" and continue dancing at Trinity Dance Center and I am now doing bigger things than I ever would have imagined.

4. I am now an apprentice at TDC, which means that I am both a dancer, an assistant, AND a teacher. That's right, a teacher. The studio owner is going on maternity leave very shortly and I will be teaching almost all of her classes for two months. You could say I'm pretty stoked.

5. That nephew that I was waiting for arrived and he is absolutely perfect. I never even knew that it was possible for me to even love a human being as much as I love him. The Lord has blessed my family in so many ways, I can hardly comprehend it.

6. My sister got married to Jacob Benjamin Ross Hermeling. He is not perfect and neither is she, but them being together is one of the most perfect things I could ever imagine. #JHRforever 10/4/14

7. I am no longer a youth. Enough said.

8. I'm turning 19 on February 6th.

9. I have fallen deeply in love with 80s music.

10. TV shows I'm watching: Reign, The 100, Hart of Dixie, Once Upon a Time, and Grimm.

11. I am currently reading the Divergent series. I just finished reading Insurgent, and now I'm reading Four before I read Allegiant to finish off the series.

12. Some of the books I am planning to read next: Unbroken, The Book Thief, Kon-Tiki, The Lord of The Rings trilogy, and a bunch of other classics. The list goes on...

12. I started a 2015 memory jar for my friends and I.

Summer Expectations

I have some pretty great expectations for this years spring/summer season. (Where I live the two seasons kind of get blended together a bit, so I can basically count it all as one.) I know that I will be busy, but it doesn't matter. I still have hopes for those lazy weekends spent lying around in the heat. Sure, I will have just graduated high school and will be busy preparing for college and taking part in some other summer responsibilities; but, again, it doesn't matter. I have expectations and hopes and I plan to fulfill every single one of them. Or at least I'll try... Better to try and fail than to not try at all, right?

This summer, I want to...

  • Read books. Lots of them. Read them inside next to a window with my favorite drink, enjoying the air conditioning. But also read them outside in the sticky heat enjoying the hot sun and, hopefully, a soft breeze. I want to read books that I've read a hundred times before and I also want to discover new adventures and tales that tug at my heart strings.
  • Have movie nights on a Friday night, or even on a week night, and stay up way later than we would have when school was in session.
  • Play hide and go seek at night outside when it's just starting to cool off, but the heat from the day is still inside of you and hasn't flown away yet.
  • Go and see all of the great upcoming films on the big screen. I have very specific dates on the calendar prepared for nights like this and I'm saving up for it, because I know there will be many days with this planned.
  • Run around outside without any shoes on. I want to be adventurous and not worry about mud or catching a cold. I kind of want to be, I don't know... a little reckless, carefree. Let's just go outside and do something crazy, completely unplanned. I want to have an adventure.
  • Have a picnic. Just lay out in the sunshine snacking on food, taking naps, talking, maybe even reading. I want to lay in the shade, feel the warm in the air, and listen to the cool breeze playing through the trees.
  • Eat watermelon. I seriously want to have a watermelon day or something. We'll go outside with a ton of chilled watermelon and just eat it. Best of all is that we can have a watermelon seed fight. After we're done, we can go swimming and wash off all the stickiness. Or have a water balloon/garden hose fight.
  • Go on a long drive with all of the windows rolled down, listening to my awesome summer playlist that I an carefully planning out (you'll hear more about that later). It would be even better if we were driving to the beach, which is another one of my great ideas, by the way.
Summer is on it's way, I have plans, and I am ready.

*facepalm*

(Please read this warning in a very fast, matter-of-fact voice.)

WARNING: This blog post is meant to be very over dramatic, a little sarcastic, and in not entirely 100% true. This post is based on true events but has been hyperbolized for dramatic effect. Please take the proceeding statements lightly and do not be concerned.

I have an issue. I just recently went through a rather traumatic event and I may not be mentally, emotionally, possibly even physically stable for some time. I have a story to tell and I feel that it must be heard. I don't want to be alone any longer.

Last night, I was out to dinner with my grandparents, my cousin, and my mother. We went to a restaurant where all they served was gourmet pizza. I was enjoying my time with my family eating wonderful food when, at 7:00 pm on the 60 inch television mounted high up on the wall to my right, appeared the one hour recap/summary episode for Once Upon a Time.

You have GOT to be kidding me. *facepalm* (Because this is the worst possible thing that could be happening right now.)

Immediately I went into a panic knowing that I wasn't going to be able to watch it because I was in the middle of a family dinner; and besides, the volume on the television was muted and there was music playing in the background. I began to hyperventilate and I became very dizzy because I did not know where to look anymore. I knew that I had to avert my eyes. It was torture. There it was, on the large screen in my perfect view and I couldn't watch it. Worst of all, I knew that the premiere began in only one hour.

One hour later, at 8:00 pm, the screen went dark and the familiar main title appeared on the screen, green with the all too familiar "enchanted spell smoke" billowing in the background. I didn't think I would make. There it was, the ONCE UPON A TIME 2014 SPRING PREMIERE being played on a MASSIVE SCREEN on my right AND getting reflected in the wall of mirrors in front of me and I couldn't watch it.

You have GOT to be kidding me. *facepalm*

And so it began. There was Emma having breakfast with Henry, Captain Hook appearing looking all dashing and depressed, begging for Emma's help. Then there's Baelfire, the Charming's, Regina, and the WICKED WITCH OF THE WEST... And I couldn't hear their voices. I could only sit there, look on, and cry.

Now here I am, sitting at home with my heart and my mind broken in two, waiting to watch the patiently and painfully waited for episode 12: New York City Serenade.

Feeling of the day:

And yes, this is absolutely a feeling.

Thanks for listening.

Mind Dump

*This was not my idea. Credit goes to http://shouldvebroughtmyclogs.blogspot.com/2014/03/mind-dump.html , one of the most entertaining bloggers I know.

Update: My Life.

Here is little update on what is going on with my life... in the form of a list.

  1. I recently turned 18. Yay! I can be tried as an adult if I choose to commit a felony! And I get to fill out all of my own paperwork. Thanks, Mom. I love you. :)
  2. I have less than three months of high school left. Exciting and scary all at once.
  3. I am heading up arts and crafts for my churches VBS this summer. This year is spy themed. Oh yeah. :)
  4. I already have this years Halloween costume planned out and summer hasn't even started. I tend to plan ahead... like, WAY ahead.
  5. I started pointe this dance season. It's the most exciting, exhausting, beautiful, painful, amazing, and terrifying thing that I have ever done.
  6. We recently set up a 60" TV in my living room and updated our whole sound system. It's pretty stinkin' amazing.
  7. My parents just had their 25th wedding anniversary. YAY! (The updated entertainment center was a result of that joyous occasion.)
  8. After patiently waiting all this time, I'm finally going to be an aunt! I have a nephew due to arrive sometime this August. :) Praise the Lord, for He is good!
  9. I am going to college at California State University, Stanislaus, beginning in fall of 2014. I plan to major in business, but I'm still labeled as undecided.
  10. My new pointe shoes will be arriving on my doorstep today! This is now my 2nd/3rd pair. (I bought two.)
  11. My sister moved to Oregon and I miss her dearly. Thank goodness for texting, Snapchat, and Skype!
  12. I am competing in my first dance competition this March. I'm nervous and super excited!
  13. My mom just got a new car. Her name is Madame Blueberry and she is beautiful... and she has a sunroof. THRILLED.
  14. I'm taking Pre-Calculus this year even though it was optional. I didn't even have to take it, but I am. I'm kind of regretting making that decision, but I plan to make the best of it. It just better not mess up my GPA. I had a pretty close call first semester.
  15. My oldest brother and his lovely wife gave me a laptop for my 18th birthday/happy graduation gift. My sister-in-law made it a little treasure hunt, and when I found it at the end, I cried.
  16. I have recently started watching Sherlock and am completely hooked on that show! It's just too good.
  17. Heroes Reborn is coming in 2015. I just might have a heart attack.
  18. I am aching to go on a roadtrip down to LA, Irvine, and Hollywood area. It's seriously killing me. Especially because my other brother and his lovely wife live in Irvine and I want to see them. They're pretty amazing. LET'S GO!

Back in my hometown...

Hello everyone! I just arrived back home today after being on vacation in Oregon at my grandparents house. I had a very nice time and enjoyed my trip. Here's some updates on what happened while I was gone:

My mother, my sister, and I began to make the drive up to Oregon on a Monday morning. On the way we stopped at the house of my cousin and his fiance to see them and their adorable little baby boy. Sadly, my cousin was not there because he was at work, but we enjoyed the time that we had with his fiance and sweet boy.

From there, we continued on and stopped one more time to visit my aunt and uncle (my fathers brother) and their two daughters (my cousins, also the sisters of the cousin I mentioned before) and their (total of) six kids. We hung out with them all evening and I thoroughly enjoyed all of the bonding time that we had. It was a very cool experience. We stayed the night at my aunt and uncle's house and left in the morning to complete our trip up to Oregon.

We arrived the next day at my grandparents wonderfully amazing house, and so our vacation officially began.

Over the course of the time at my grandparents house, we would have days where we would just sit around and rest, watching TV, reading books, just doing whatever we'd feel like doing until it was time for dinner. My sister made a couple very delicious Ukrainian dishes for us over the course of the first three days. I enjoyed that very much.
We also had a couple work days. One of the missions that we had to accomplish while on vacation was to move my sister into my grandparents house. She is going to be working on a internship for the Elisha Foundation in Oregon, and the family that she is working for lives there, so she's moving in with my grandparents. So, while my mom and grandma were unpacking her stuff I would usually be doing homework in the upstairs room.
One night, we had dinner with the Reimmers for their son Abe's birthday.
On Sunday, we all went to my grandparents church and then went out to lunch at The Original Pancake House, which was delicious. While I was there, I ate two pumpkin pancakes, one sour dough pancake, two sausage links, two eggs, two very large pieces of bacon, and white a bit of potatoes. I ate absolutely all of it and was completely stuffed. That night, my aunt and uncle (my mothers brother) and my cousin came over for dinner.
The next day we just rested and I did a little bit of homework.
On Tuesday, we had to wake up at 6:00am to take my sister to the airport because she was going on her first trip for her internship. After a very teary goodbye, my mom and grandma and I went back to The Original Pancake House and had breakfast there again. From there, we went home and got ourselves ready for a shopping day to cheer ourselves up. We went shopping for a very very very long time, then, at 8 o'clock, we went to a restaurant called Baldy's to have dinner with my aunt and uncle again. At dinner, I ate a (petite) rack of baby back ribs with coleslaw, beans, and a delicious appetizer of fried okra. Again, I ate all of it.
On Wednesday, I did homework all day long until 8:00, then I sat for two hours and watched Restaurant Impossible and America's Got Talent. At 10:00, I packed up everything for the long drive home the next day.
The long 10 hour drive back home to Patterson the next day consisted of some music, a lot of doodling, ice cream, and almost the whole second half of the Hunger Games.
That was basically the whole of my trip, missing a few minor details.

Thank you for listening.
